Needlepoint Tapestry - a subtle and sophistication addition to any wall, giving the eyes a contemplative image for thought and pleasure.

Image size 40 x 40cms, with approximately 3 cms selvedge unworked canvas around. This gives you the option to “box frame” the original piece, allowing the unworked canvas to remain exposed, or double mount, so that the glass will not rest directly on top of the thread.

This piece is a one off, and sold lightly stitched onto foam board for the purposes of keeping the work flat, ready for your choice of display. Limited edition run of giclée prints, signed and numbered, are available of this image at £85.

The inspiration for this design came from a day when things didn’t go to plan, so I decided to simply meander around the Victoria and Albert museum- and it’s free! There’s a knack of allowing one’s mind to free up whilst turning this way and that, and gradually, I got absorbed by the idea of mosaic, the tiled flooring being the starting point for this design.

It stitched on zweigart 12 to 1” canvas, using DMC cotton perlé 3, with tent stitch and diagonal stitch, incorporating 17 colours without any one colour becoming over dominant.
